For years, kitchens topped the list of renovation desires, but now, a new contender has emerged. Get ready for more fun at home!
Recent findings indicate that home bars are becoming a top priority, with one in 13 homeowners in the UK planning to establish one in 2022.
Out of 2,000 homeowners surveyed, 7 percent indicated they would realize their home bar concepts this year, budgeting around $17,800 (£14,000) for the project. This amount exceeds what many are willing to invest in new kitchen designs, home gyms, or porches.

'Homeowners are shifting their priorities, focusing more on creating spaces for socializing rather than merely upgrading essentials like kitchens. This year clearly belongs to home bars,' notes Adrienne Minster, CEO of a company that conducted the survey.
Are Home Bars Gaining Ground Over New Kitchens?
Is 2022 the year home bars surpass kitchens in importance? Leading designers share their insights on this trend.
'Open-plan kitchens are immensely popular for entertaining, so it's natural that home bars are quickly climbing the ranks of renovation wishes,' say Jen and Mar, founders of a design firm.
While the demand for home bars is rising, it doesn't diminish the popularity of kitchens. In fact, home bars are often incorporated into entertainment-focused kitchens, enhancing the overall design.

'There are countless ways to design your bar. You can repurpose an old kitchen cabinet or transform a larder into a stylish bar,' they suggest.
James Bodsworth, Design Director at another furniture brand, concurs. He points out that the growing interest in home bars coincides with the desire for open-plan spaces perfect for gatherings.
He encourages homeowners to experiment with bar countertop designs in their kitchens, creating trendy features that could also be among the best value-adding upgrades for their homes.

'The market embraces integrated interior designs, allowing for kitchen spaces to include features like home bars seamlessly,' he adds.
James further notes that the demand for diverse home interiors emphasizes the goal to maximize living spaces, creating a bar area separate from the kitchen for added comfort and privacy.
While the rise of home bars doesn't signal the end of kitchens, it's clear that this trend is here to stay, evolving in exciting ways in the seasons ahead.
