Everything you need to know about Karen Finerman, the CEO of Metropolitan Capital Advisors and host of the podcast on success.

What's her secret? This week, we reached out to Karen Finerman, the accomplished host of the podcast and co-host of InvestingFixx, a platform tailored for women's investing. Balancing her role as CEO of Metropolitan Capital Advisors, a panelist on CNBC's Fast Money, serving on the Wharton board, and raising two sets of twins is no small feat. It was time to learn more about her remarkable journey.

Karen's passion for finance ignited at just fifteen. She pursued this path, graduating from Wharton and then stepping onto Wall Street as a risk arbitrageur alongside her mentor, Jeffrey Schwarz. "There's a lot of strategy involved," Finerman shares. "The pace is exhilarating, and at the time, options were a fresh concept in the market, offering myriad possibilities in takeover transactions. Significant stock fluctuations could occur, making options invaluable. I was hooked."

Years later, she and Schwarz launched their hedge fund, Metropolitan Capital Advisors, in 1992. "I owe so much to Jeffrey, who opened doors for me and continuously taught me. He's been my biggest supporter," she reflects. However, she notes the inherent challenges women face in finance, acknowledging that traditional biases often hinder women from securing investment roles. "Change is happening, but it's gradual," she adds.

As a strong advocate for women on Wall Street, Karen faced apprehension about joining the panel on CNBC's Fast Money. She worried about public perception since many serious hedge fund managers typically avoid the spotlight. What if she stumbled? What would others think?

Ultimately, she took the plunge a week later, reasoning, "We can't let the fear of failure hold us back; we must act as if it's not a factor." By continually embracing new challenges, Karen has paved the way for aspiring female finance professionals to pursue their ambitions without hesitation.
