Color trend season is here, and Sherwin-Williams is making waves with its latest collection for 2025. This year, instead of highlighting a single hue, the brand has introduced a capsule collection featuring nine distinct paint colors, celebrating 15 years of color trend innovations.

The collection blends classic Sherwin-Williams shades with vibrant selections from the Colormix Forecast. Each color is chosen as top colors of the year to inspire your 2025 color schemes.

Ranging from soft neutrals to striking shades, each color is designed to create a calming atmosphere in your home. To explore this exciting new range of color trends, we spoke with Sue Wadden, Director of Color Marketing at Sherwin-Williams, who shared her decorating tips for the 2025 Color Capsule.

"Commemorating our 15th Color of the Year anniversary is special, and launching a comprehensive capsule gives a fresh perspective on color, showcasing a balanced selection," says Sue Wadden. "The palette, whether used as a whole or in curated pairings, creates a unique charm suitable for various styles."

2025 Color Capsule Overview

"The overarching theme is vintage with a twist," Sue explains. "The capsule has an eclectic vibe reminiscent of the 1970s, making a comeback in design, mixed with modern hues to keep it lively."

From airy neutrals to deeper shades, the 2025 Color Capsule seamlessly transitions between light and darker palettes. Colors like Malabar and Sunbleached serve as timeless neutral options, while Bosc Pear, Grounded, and Rain Cloud make bold statements with their rich tones.

For a trendy aesthetic, Sue suggests incorporating brown: "A favorite pairing is the blend of browns and whites, like Grounded SW 6089 and Sunbleached SW 9585. This combination feels both elegant and restorative, ideal for a master bedroom."

If you're after a more colorful look, consider the blue and yellow shades in the collection. "An unexpected yet delightful mix is Rain Cloud SW 9639 and Chartreuse SW 0073. Pairing the deep teal with a bright yellow-green can infuse a space with vibrancy, perfect for entertaining areas like dining or sitting rooms," Sue adds.

For a more subdued and calm approach, opt for light neutrals. "For a soft, neutral duo, I recommend Mauve Finery SW 6282 and Malabar SW 9110. This combination of beige and purple creates a gentle, feminine ambiance, ideal for a guest bathroom."

Another exciting approach is to embrace a bold look with deep colors. "Consider painting all four walls in one of our darker shades, such as Clove SW 9605, Rain Cloud SW 9639, or Grounded SW 6089. These rich colors offer elegance and comfort, perfect for a main bedroom retreat."

Lastly, if you want to introduce more color without going too bold, Bosc Pear is a great choice. "An accent wall in Bosc Pear SW 6390 offers a sophisticated gold-yellow that adds depth without overwhelming."
